The Chrism Mass is the special Liturgy at which Bishop Daly blesses the Holy Oils that will be used in the various Sacraments throughout the year. Chrism is used in the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders, as well as for the consecration of altars and the dedication of churches. The oil of catechumens is also used in the sacrament of Baptism, and the Oil of the Sick is used only in the rite of the Anointing of the Sick.
All priests from around the diocese will be present. You are encouraged to attend this special mass at the Cathedral on Tuesday, March 19 at 5:30. It is a powerful, visible display of support for our priests. Let’s pack the Cathedral!
